ICYMI, your gut is your second brain. So please, be mindful of it.
Mindfulness is not just about focusing on the mind or practicing yoga or meditating...it's about being aware of the types of foods we consume and the impact it has on our gut.
A happy mind can be achieved through simple changes in what you eat. Ensure that the foods you put into your body are made up of nourishing ingredients; in this way, you greatly influence your gut health.
Consuming a wide variety of whole foods is imperative when seeking mindfulness because 90% of our serotonin is produced in the gut. Read that again if you must. Meaning, the foods we each have a direct impact on our mood and overall wellbeing.
Opt for whole foods (more plants the better), remember to take your probiotics (I like BIOHM Health) and digestive enzymes (I take Digest Gold religiously). These are components which are all essential for improving one's gut health. Said components work together to curb cravings, stabilize blood sugar levels, reduce inflammation and balance pH levels, fundamentally leading to improved digestion, nutrient absorption and supporting vitality.
