Did you know having at least one lazy day per week can reduce stress, high blood pressure, and the chances of having a stroke?
You read that right.
A stressful day can leave us feeling anxious and high-strung, and too much of that can take its toll on blood pressure and heart rate levels. How to combat that? Simple.
1. Take some time to simply stretch out. Take a deep breath and calm your mind. This leads to lower blood pressure, inevitably leaving us to feel soothed and peaceful.
2. Similar to meditation, laziness brings us into the present moment and allows us to appreciate it for what it is. (I.e. that smell of flowers in the garden, the soft ticking of your clock, or the warmth of a cup of tea) Pay attention to the present grounds and relax, you'll feel recharged for the next step.
3. When you give your mind space to wander or drift, you not only get your creative juices flowing, but also your philosophical ideas generating! You may begin to start thinking about mannerisms of complexity, vital issues, or even new perceptive thoughts. The simple act of 'lounging around' leads to innovative and unconventional ways of thinking, which in turn leads to your having a better understanding of your own beliefs.
